Many of our clients do not have experience managing a small business. To overcome this problem, build sustainable businesses, and to assist them obtain financing, we offer the following types of technical assistance to our clients:

• Pre-loan assistance: We provide business counseling for clients who want to start a business but are unfamiliar with the business planning process. We take each client through the business development and lending process, explaining each step of the process in clear, layman’s terms. Training is additionally incorporated with the IDA Asset Goal Trainings.
• Loan packaging assistance: We provide a full range of loan packaging services, including assisting clients in completing their loan applications. Many clients, for example, are unable to project cash flow or complete a business plan on their own. We provide one-on-one assistance and group training to build client skills in these areas.
• Post loan technical assistance: We provide our clients with continuous support throughout the lending process through follow-up visits, training and one-on-one counseling.
• Group training: We provide business training for entrepreneurs who need to develop their business management skills. Entrepreneurs tend to have similar questions and skill development needs. By conducing group training, we address those needs more efficiently. Course participants also benefit by learning about other participants’ experiences.
