Welcome! Bienvenido! Encone Dehna Metachu!

A dominant force in asset building efforts in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. for the past 16 years, ECDC Enterprise Development Group (EDG) has a tradition and commitment to provide alternative financing products and services to people not generally welcomed as customers by conventional, regulated financial institutions.

EDG’s personal and flexible approach to microenterprise development and asset building helps customers overcome a variety of issues that bar them from conventional interaction with banks.

Formed in 1992, EDG is unique in that it is one of a few non-profit organizations that provides microloans, technical assistance, training, asset-building opportunities, and free tax preparation services throughout the entire metropolitan area of Washington , D.C for largely low to moderate income individuals.  A certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and a Small Business Administration (SBA) Microloan Intermediary, EDG’s qualified professional staff help customers realize their dreams.

As of 2007, EDG trained more than 5,000 people through a variety of programs and provided more than $8.3 million in micro loans to 516 clients and counting. The IDA program has helped 774 people save $1.8 million, enabling the purchase of $16 million in assets, including 56 homes in the Washington DC metro area. It has also helped over 341 clients prepare their tax returns and take home over $429,054 in federal and state refunds and rebates.
